as well as pet foods, cheese and fish products

KPG have extended their range of flexo printing casing presses with the introduction of DIGICASE.

DIGICASE using digital printing technology and specially formulated UV inks is ideally suited for short/medium production runs of polyamide casings.  With a capability for handling narrow webs and single layer substrates, DIGICASE is able to print wiener casings on both sides at up to 100m/min (depending on design and polyamide quality).

Now available with turn-bars, DIGICASE can be specified for both sides printing in full colour CMYK plus white of casings  up to 156mm wide. This technology is also suitable for printing polybags. Ease of operation with Drag – Drop – Print steps enables job changes in less than 2 minutes.

Optional features include fully automatic production, flexo printing heads and varnishing/coating capability.

KPG has successfully completed trials for installing a DIGICASE CODER for polyamide extrusion lines.

KPG Euroflex Casing Presses are available in web widths up to 520mm, with dual-pass fully automatic production and printing in up to 16 colours, plus varnishing.

Casings printed by DIGICASE and Euroflex presses can be filled, processed and packaged in the conventional way.

DIGITAL  PRINTING  ‘OPENS DOORS’

For many years printers of artificial food casings have identified the potential benefits of being able to access ‘short run’ production capability, including instant image change with virtually no material waste or down-time.

Now KPG has launched DIGICASE, a digital system for printing not only artificial casings, but also polyamide bags and pouches, packaging films/plastics and labels. DIGICASE is ideal for JIT orders, language and code changes, whilst being exceptionally user friendly with ‘Drag – Drop – Print’ operation.

Designing the new digital system, KPG has been able to maximise the vast experience gained by supplying Euroflex  dual-pass flexo casing presses worldwide for many years.  With pdf handling, instant data changes, choice of print resolution and production speeds (600 X 600dpi and up to 100m/min depending on design);  cost effective ‘short runs’ are now a reality for printers.  Optional features include fully automatic production, additional flexo heads for printing, varnishing and coating, plus a CID (chilled central impression drum) version.

With a GEW UV Rhino system in a choice of web widths, CMYK, plus white and ‘spot’ colour printing is available.  A mono coder for retrofitting onto extrusion lines and existing presses or as a stand-alone can also be supplied.

KPG Euroflex presses are installed worldwide, printing tube laminates (ABL/PBL), films, complex labels, multi-web/multi substrate products and artificial casings.  Using central impression drum technology consistent print register is assured. Euroflex presses can be supplied for use with UV, solvent and water based inks, in a choice of web widths and for printing 4 – 16 colours.  Many optional features means that press configurations can be 100% customised.

Synonymous with the versatility of KPG presses is the fact that customers continue to add new applications to their existing KPG production, such as aluminium barrier seed packets, concealed tamper-evident chips, EM (electromagnetic) systems and medical infusion bags.
