Following the success of KPG’s drum exchange system, the company has launched a similar service for exchanging rubber rollers. Worn rollers are shipped to KPG and refurbished rollers are then shipped to customers, minimising press down-time and expense.
The KPG / Ko-Pack letterpress printing unit has the roller arrangement as shown below. It is very important that these rollers are examined and replaced when necessary, in order to maintain the print quality.
Rubber rollers will either expand, due to exposure to UV ink washing solvent or, reduce in diameter from normal wear. It is recommended that all machine operators should know and regularly practice accurate roller contact adjustment.
Rollers can be replaced individually as required, or as a complete set, depending on condition and required print performance.
